It was with great sadness that I heard of Henri Bortoft’s passing over the New Year. He was a fantastic tutor, and such an inspiration to me at the start of my degree. It’s hard to imagine anyone else being able to so comprehensively reframe Goethe in the context of modern science and philosophy in a single week. Long may his legacy continue.
I thought that in addition to the many tributes which have been written for Henri Bortoft, it would be a fitting celebration to collect Henri’s own words, especially to provide those of you who may not be familiar with his work just a small flavour of his philosophy and wisdom.
